Israël/OPT – Abd el-Rahim
Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories. Abd el-Rahim is a goatherd in the Jordan Valley. He and his family have been evicted from their tent four times in the last couple of years. 'Did we rebel? No. How can we rebel?'
In the Jordan Valley, thousands of hectares of land have been declared a ‘closed military zone’ by the Israeli authorities. This means that Palestinians aren’t allowed to build there and are limited in their movements. While the Israeli settlements are growing, Palestinian houses and animal stables are systematically destroyed. Like many other residents in the Israeli-occupied territories, Abd el-Rahim is the victim of a catch-22: without a permit, he is not allowed to set up a tent, but he is systematically refused a permit. Despondently he describes the sabotage and harassment by the Israeli army. ‘If they'll let me build a house, I will write Netanyahu’s name on it, if they like.’

I think the brutal treatment
I think the brutal treatment that the Israeli's are doing to the Palestinian people, by destroying what little they have to live on, that is provided by rearing goats. They must stay where there is some vegetation for the goats and the children. I find this simply shocking and I sincerely hope that the Israeli Army will be forced back into Israil. I wonder what the Israli's would do if the Palestinians decided to use a tractor toknock their houses down and leave them suffering for lack of water. It beyond belief to me that the Israeli's have the privilege of plenty of water and when it suits them, they throw some away. It is time that the United Nations and other bodies stepped in quickly and told the Israeli's that there is no more land for Israeli settlements. The Israeli's have got away with building settlements because the Palestinians are not likely to be able to bulldoze the settlements..
Gracias por el reportage. Mi
Gracias por el reportage. Mi sufrimiento está con Abd el-Rahim y su familia. El maestro Jesus dice: "Bienaventurados los pacíficos, porque ellos heredarán la tierra".Y así será.
